Returning to routine

August fades slowly, and with it that soft rhythm of the long days fades too. I come back to my routine without hurry, like someone stepping into a familiar room and finding it slightly changed.

Routine frightens me when I think of it as a cage. But when I live it as a rhythm, as a beat that holds me, I notice it helps me come back to my body. The hours, the cooked meal, the morning walk.

This year I didn’t resist. I let August leave on its own and I gathered, little by little, what serves me: the calm of the afternoons, the slow suppers, the habit of looking out the window before sleep.

Not everything comes back the same. Some things stay behind in summer, and that’s fine. Others I bring with me, the way one carries a smooth stone from the river.

Returning is not a renunciation. It’s another way of keeping on walking, with the same step, inward.

"Tu energía es tu medicina. Cuídala, ámala y alíneate con tu verdad interior." "Acepto que el ego y el amor forman parte de mi vida." "When I heal within myself, the bond transforms." "No necesitas cambiar tu sensibilidad, necesitas un entorno que te comprenda."
